Is it better for a QB to play his 1st season and gain experience or watch and learn?

i would start a rookie QB only IF the team has a good defense and a good running game to back up the rookie. two good examples Flacco went 11-5 and 2 playoff wins and Roethlisberger went 15-1 on their rookie years. it's not the worst thing to throw ur rookie QB in the fire cuz troy aikman and peyton manning had horrible rookie years and still have great careers.
