Why does netflix have so many movies that are australian, or british?

Netflix hasn't told me of course but my guess is that a lot of subscribers identify with them and like them. The eastern US has a long history that involves the UK. The western US history of European settlements looks a lot like the European settlement of Australia. And of course the common language is probably the most important reason.
