It depends on if you were looking right at him when you said it, or was your friend, also how you acted when you noticed he looked at you. If you acted all embarrased and looked away from him really fast like if you didn't want him to notice you were looking then that does make it look like you were talking about him. But if you acted like if you were talking about something else then he probably doesn't think it's about him. Also if in the future he catches you looking at him he'll probably get that you like him. You can be interested in someone you don't know, it's a crush.
