Any ideas on how I can make a move?

There is this guy I like right now. One of my friends thinks he likes me back... And I didn't think she was right until pretty recently. I asked a few questions about him previously... And a few people who answered think I should be the one making the 1st move. But I don't know how to. Also that same friend has homeroom with him and says that "He is really shy. He hardly even talks to anyone who isn't his friend". So what if I scare him off?
